Saxophone Lessons in Copenhagen

Book a lesson

I offer private saxophone lessons in Copenhagen for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. Lessons focus on developing sound, technique, musical understanding, and long-term progress, with an emphasis on jazz, improvisation, and personal expression.

My teaching now runs on a subscription-based model, designed to support consistent learning, clear structure, and steady development over time. Regular lessons encourage continuity, motivation, and meaningful musical progress, while keeping scheduling and administration simple for everyone.

Rather than booking individual lessons ad hoc, subscriptions prioritise commitment and routine — two key ingredients for improving on the saxophone at any level.

All subscriptions include:

  • 60-minute one-to-one lessons

  • Individualised practice focus and guidance

  • Students under 30 are not charged 25% MOMS, in accordance with Danish VAT rules.

Lessons take place in Copenhagen, with online options available.

About Mark

I’m a professional saxophonist and experienced teacher based in Copenhagen. I hold a Master’s degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance and have studied at postgraduate level at conservatoires across Europe. My career has taken me across Europe, the US and Africa, performing and recording in jazz, pop and many other styles.

I’ve taught saxophonists aged 5 to 85, from complete beginners picking up the instrument for the first time to advanced musicians preparing for conservatoire study and professional careers. I’m also a regular faculty member at the Dordogne International Jazz Summer School.

My lessons are shaped around you—your musical tastes, your goals and the kind of musician you want to become. We can work on everything from sound, technique and reading to jazz improvisation, pop repertoire and performance.

Most importantly, I want lessons to be something you look forward to. I’m a people person, I love teaching, and while we’ll take your progress seriously, you can expect plenty of laughing and music-making along the way.

What People Are Saying
