Guitarist and composer Claudio Suriano will perform with his trio in a unique concert at Picniq during Vinterjazz to celebrate the release of Earth Calling and present new, yet unreleased compositions.

Claudio’s musical direction is both exciting and down-to-earth. Playing bass and guitar simultaneously on his hybrid guitar, he creates a dynamic foundation for exploratory improvisations. The trio’s coherent interaction results in a performance that is extremely groovy, musical and lyrical, and that gives each musician space to express their unique musical personality.
Claudio says: “This concert not only gives us the opportunity to present Earth Calling and our latest works live, but also to continue to challenge ourselves to find new perspectives and approaches to music creation, while maintaining a common artistic vision. In other words, it is an ongoing process of exploration.”

Joining Claudio Suriano on tenor sax is the soulful Mark Hurrell, one of Europe’s finest saxophonists. Talented drummer Haim Peskoff powers the rhythm and articulates catchy grooves with a refined and effortless ease. Together, these three musicians promise a performance that explores different grooves, expands melodies, and lets each artist shine individually.
